Good evening Centennial Families: We realize this has been a challenging time for everyone between adjusting to social distancing protections, worrying about the health and safety of loved ones, and adjusting to remote learning for our students. Some families and students have thrived while remote learning, while others have struggled or disengaged. We want to support all students in being successful. Since some students learn better while on campus, in-person with their teachers and have struggled to complete assignments or remain caught-up during these past few weeks, we will provide support for these students specifically at the beginning of next year through a jumpstart program. Students who are unsuccessful during the fourth quarter will come to school 6 days before other students at the beginning of next year. This will be a time for one-on-one support; a chance to build the skills they are missing during this remote learning time; and to be better prepared for the rigorous coursework of the next grade level. Check with your children's teachers over the next week to see if your child is missing assignments or is not engaging in the work of the fourth quarter, which may require them to be in the jumpstart program. We have only two weeks left, so let's finish strong and get the most out of the learning experiences that remain. Go Rams!

Virtual order
Good evening high school parents and students, High school students can come to the school to get items out of their locker on Wednesday, May 13 from 1:00 to 3:30. Parents will pull up to the school and wait in line like they would to pick-up their child after school. Parents and students will remain in their vehicle until it is their student's turn to enter the building. If you are a high school student that drives, you will park in the parking lot and wait outside the building while maintaining 6 foot social distancing at all times. Students must bring their own bag to take items home, wear a mask, and remain 6 feet apart at all times. There will only be 10 students allowed in the building and hallway at a time and will need to have their temperature checked when entering the building. We will provide each student with gloves while in the building. Once one student leaves, another student can enter the school. Once the student enters, the parent will drive around the school and wait in the pick-up zone on the HS side of the school by the door to the HS hallway until your child exits the building. If you are unable to come to school on Wednesday, May 13, your items will be cleared from the locker by staff and will be sent home as part of the final material drop-off on Wednesday, May 20. If you would like to have your child pack-up their own locker, please bring your child to the school at the following times: 1:00-- Last Names: A-D 1:30-- Last Names: E-L 2:00-- Last Names: M-O 2:30-- Last Names: P-R 3:00-- Last Names: S-Z There are just a few weeks left to the year and it is important your child continues completing their assignments, attending meetings or office hours with their teacher, and learning. May 20 will be the last time to submit completed work necessary for course credit. Please, reach out to your teachers during their daily office hours if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support. Go Rams!

Now is the perfect time to Adopt-a-Senior at Centennial! The Coronavirus restrictions have quickly ended many of the important “last times” for our seniors to enjoy being a kid before transitioning to adulthood. They have missed out on milestones in their lives such as prom, senior year spring sports, end-of-the-year activities, and an in-person graduation on May 22. Let’s work together to make the month of May feel a little less isolated and support the Class of 2020 as a community. There are 15 seniors available for adoption, and we will pair you with a senior awaiting adoption. Feel free to adopt more than one! To Adopt-a-Senior, simply send a contribution along with a note of encouragement to Crystal Quintana at cquintana@centennialschool.net or coordinate by calling (719) 298-1398. Your contributions will be used to provide each senior with heartfelt gifts and treats throughout the month. Crystal will connect you with a senior and provide some background information right away. Let’s show the Centennial Class of 2020 how much we love and support them by Adopting a Senior today— Go Rams!

There will be an educator parade this Saturday, April 25 starting at 10:00am. Centennial teachers and staff will drive the bus routes to wave at our families who are practicing safe, social distancing. The educator parade will begin at the top of Liz' bus route in El Rito at 10. The parade will follow the route to Chama and then through the Town of San Luis. The parade will then move west along the bus route towards Old and New San Acacio, and will follow the bus route to Mesita, Jaroso, and end in Garcia just before noon. Feel free to stand on your porch, come to the end of your driveway or wave from your yard as we pass. We want to thank you for all you have done during this unusual time, and we look forward to ending the year with a continued focus on the successful learning of each student. This parade is meant to reconnect us as we enter the final weeks of the school year. Go Rams!

Good afternoon Centennial Families, It is with heavy heart and a deep commitment to the health and well-being of our community that we must announce that school will be closed to in-person learning for the remainder of the year. Students will continue their remote learning through the end of the scheduled school year. In a meeting this morning, Governor Polis announced this closure to the state superintendents.
